I know, there are people who might be questioning about my critical assumptions regarding women's right and sexism. And I'm pretty sure I pissed people off when they read my strong judgments and sarcastic remarks on Twitter or even in this blog. Now, before I'll be bombarded by the relevant reasons on why I am such a pathetic misogynist, let me tell you that this isn't about sexism. These are just my rational random thoughts, and of course, with lots of flaws.
It goes like this. I am a very persistent and consistent internet user. I spend like at least an hour a day scrolling at my phone, walking on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, you name it. We have been served with dramas from all kinds of ratings, grades; a classic drama, a cheap one, an amazing masterpiece, gross and disgusting drama. The same plot, broken relationship, friendship, and the same climax or resolutions. (Note that this isn't a general assumption. Not every women do this). I don't mind about those people sharing their stories publicly. In fact, I don't care. It's their right to say whatever they want, to express whatever they wish to and do whatever they think is right. But what really ticks me off is when some people let their emotions overcloud their rationality and judgment. Fine, so you just broke up or had a fight with your boyfriend. Alright then. But what's with the emotional rude words or tweets of you putting the blame solely on them? Fine, we know your boyfriends hurt you since you decided to tell the world, but you just don't go and spread words of hatred to other women, expecting them to share, favourite, retweet or upvote, hoping that they understand your deep and gloomy feelings and at the same time, convincing other women that love is nothing but a pure lady falling in love with a devilish man. Just because women are being assumed as the least dominant or the weak ones doesn't mean that attention and empathy should be poured upon us. That's not empathy. That's seeking attention. Why? Because we are women. Our standards are more than just a group of people spilling on social networks and expecting people to give their sympathy. That's too pathetic and somehow I found it very embarrassing to see how easily women sell their hearts on public. It's a disgrace to show how weak and helpless we are.
Okay, I'm not saying I'm a strong woman. I am a lady full of emotional unnecessary thoughts and irrational judgment. But I guess, instead of publicizing about our weaknesses and seeing people exploiting us in the future, thanks to our generosity in expressing ourselves too much, why not we just take every bad thing that had happened as a lesson for us, to teach our fragile hearts to be stronger so that we are always ready with any hard circumstances. We are stronger than we ever know so don't use our self-fulfilling prophecy to soothe the broken hearts. That's destructive. That's not healthy. If only we know how strong we actually are, we won't be selling hearts, expecting people to care for us. There must be good reasons why Allah created us to have soft hearts and sensitive. Why can't we take it as a strength instead of a weakness? And putting the blame on others, that's not fair. We are merely humans with flaws. We are matured enough to learn from mistakes without pointing fingers on someone else so that we are not bounded by guiltiness and unpleasant thoughts. Learn to think, judge and assume positively, rationally and maturely.
Just my two cents. Thanks for reading. Assalamualaikum :)
