3rd Semester

Dearest loyal readers, thank you for being one of the most loyal readers by reading this crappy blog.

Assalamualaikum everyone. All right, when was the last time that I posted on this blog? I guess it’s a long, long time ago in the galaxy of far, far away. Well, I could say that I have been so damn busy for the last three months and I haven’t seem to find an end to this hectic schedule. God knows how hard it is for me, barely able to breathe throughout this 3rd semester. If you ask me did I break down? Yes, a lot. LIKE A LOT. I could say this could be the time that I was nearly at my worst. To the point that I almost lost hope in doing anything.

Okay so let’s talk about TESL Dinner. I must say, being the Ast. Director isn’t as fun as it sounds. You have to juggle between your position and also to interfere in others’ business because you know, that’s what you are opted to do. I had my hardest time conducting this event, especially when everyone seemed to call for your help for almost every second regarding everything.  Yes, of course it’s a good thing when people can rely on you, but things will get worse once you are committed to the job that isn’t supposed to be handled by you at the first place. Was the dinner okay? Yes, it was superbly okay. Were you satisfied? Yes, I was truly satisfied that all my hard works had been paid off. Were you happy? Now that’s the question. Was I happy? Honestly saying, I wasn’t that happy. I was okay with the fact that this year’s dinner was indeed the best dinner TESL students ever had (that was what the seniors claimed) but I wasn’t happy with the fact that humans are very lacking of appreciation. Not to say that I deserved to be praised but at least, a lil bit of appreciation and few kind words would be fine. It’s sad when you were the one who were working so hard but you received nothing in return. And for the fact that people can hardly see your kindness, they only see what they want to see. But anyway what done is done and I must say, I am thankful for the experiences that had taught me a lot.

Do you believe that Allah’s help is never far from you, regardless of time and situations?

Few weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to be the Ast. Director for Pertandingan Pidato Piala Pengetua Kolej Keenam Interkolej. Well, it was an honour to be given such position as it’s not easy for a college student like me to be selected but Alhamdulillah, there must be a valid reason why I was being appointed. I have a story to tell. The story goes like this. It was 12 in the morning when our fellows burst out about the selected judges for the event that morning (at 8). I didn’t know the whole story but all I knew was that our MTMs were calling everyone in their contacts books and asked if anyone could make it as a judge for the event. After numerous of contacts, I, who was busy typing out few things that needed to be settled, was being told to call anyone and explained about our situation. Well, it was 12:46 in the freaking morning and no one was still alive for god’s sake. But since the director had almost lost his temper and everyone had already lost their minds, I came across a person. I didn’t know what kind of forces that actually led me to the name but I believed, such situation happened according to His will. Can you imagine it was nearly 3 in the morning when you had finally got someone to help your college to fill up the empty position? Can you imagine such person who was kind enough to help you when it’s freaking 3 in the morning? Allahu, I almost cried realising how merciful Allah is in helping us. I cried knowing that regardless of any time and situation, He’s never far from you. How beautiful His arrangement is. And I would very much like to thank that one particular name that appeared before my eyes, for being a saviour, which I never ever expected. I owe you a lot, sir. I really owe you a lot.

And this semester, I have finally came to the conclusion that no matter how hard you’re trying to save your friendship, if both of you are not meant to be friends, you never will make it. I don’t know why He’s putting me in such situation but all I know, I lost a friend that I once thought as a good friend of mine. But after some times, I started to realize that we are so different in so many ways and yes, since I received no respect at all, now it has finally come to the stage where my existence is now a threat. Yes, I can be very emotional about friendship since I appreciate my friends a lot. But having a person who always objects your opinions, disagrees to your choices, complains about your actions, make fun of your weaknesses and of course never seems to respect you as a friend, I should say that I’d rather lose a friend than to live with someone who is trying to destroy me emotionally, bit by bit. Alhamdulillah, I guess He’s trying to show me something as I am now living a very joyous life eventhough I just lost a good friend. I believe, He has good reasons for whatever situations that we have to endure.

All and all, 3rd semester is finally coming to an end. It’s hellish, I must say. I nearly drown throughout this whole semester but Alhamdulillah, I survived. All praise to Allah for never even once leave His creations in any condition, no matter how horrible it has been. Thank you for the experiences, be it good or bad. Thank you for those who have been helping me to sort things out this 3rd semester. Thanks for everything. Now, prepare yourself for a deadly semester next year. Adios, amigos. Ciao. Assalamualaikum :)
